LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT

Karen J. Baker, 29, of Russell, Pa., was charged Saturday with criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument, inadequate head lamps, inadequate direction signal and unsafe tire. Around 11:20 p.m., police pulled a vehicle over on Busti-Sugar Grove Road for an equipment violation. Upon further investigation, police report Baker was found to be in possession of a hypodermic instrument. She will be in Busti Town Court later.

Allison L. Smith, 20, of Hopkins Avenue, Jamestown was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher. On Dec. 14 at 11:47 p.m., police were dispatched to a possible domestic disturbance in a vehicle on West Terrace Avenue in Lakewood. Officers found the vehicle was involved in a property damage accident. Smith was allegedly found to be intoxicated and was charged. She will be in Busti Town Court.

Ryan C. Marshall, 21, of Bradford, Pa., was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, failure to keep right and unlawful possession of marijuana. On Dec. 15, police pulled over a vehicle on Big Tree Road in Busti for a traffic violation. Upon investigation Marshall was found to be under the influence of drugs and in possession of marijuana. He was taken into custody and later released with uniform traffic tickets. Marshall will appear in Town of Busti Court at a later date.

ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT

Chas A. Echols, 20, of Rochester was charged with larceny after allegedly leaving an Ellicott Kwik Fill location on Dec. 14 without paying for gas. A description of the vehicle was given to officers and it was found a short time later. Police report Echols was found to be the driver. He will be in Ellicott Town Court later.

John T. Peterson, 52, of Mosher Street, Falconer was charged with second-degree strangulation, a felony. On Dec. 15, police were dispatched to a domestic dispute and, upon investigation, Peterson was charged after allegedly chocking another person three times during the dispute. He was arraigned and taken to the Chautauqua County Jail. He will be in court later.

Bryan J. Postolowski, 26, of West Main Street, Fredonia was charged with petit larceny following a Dec. 4 incident at an Ellicott business. According to a police report, officers responded to a West Ellicott business for a larceny complaint of several hundred dollars worth of merchandise. Investigation into the complaint led police to obtain a search warrant for Postolowski. He was located in Jamestown and arraigned on the warrant in Ellicott Town Court. Postolowski was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail as there also was a parole violation warrant for him.

CATTARAUGUS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

Roy A. Austin, 42, of Rawson Road, Lyndon was charged with violation of probation following his Dec. 13 arrest. Police say Austin had a warrant for his arrest, issued by the Cattaraugus County Court. He was taken to the Cattaraugus County Jail and will be in court later.
