The Winifred Crawford Dibert Boys & Girls Club of Jamestown has announced its upcoming holiday schedule of youth and adult activities.
Normal youth and adult hours will continue through Saturday.
The club will be closed Monday, Dec. 24 , and Monday, Dec. 25, in observance of the Christmas holiday, and on Tuesday, Jan. 1, for New Years Day. The club will offer extended youth hours of noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, through Friday, Dec. 28, and Monday, Dec. 31. Adult programming resumes the normal schedule beginning Jan. 2, 2013, and youth swim lessons resume their current sessions the week of Jan. 7.
The club is open to all area 5 through 17 year olds, 18 if still in high school. Youth admission is free for Boys & Girls Club members, and $1 per day for non-members. Youth memberships may be purchased for $15 a year. All youth participants must check in at the office with contact information for a parent or guardian. Special lunches and holiday snacks will be available for youth participants at no charge.
Youth activities throughout the afternoon each day will include gym games, game rooms, computers, arts and crafts and swimming. Children will have the opportunity to earn tickets that will be drawn for daily prizes. Youth free swim will be held from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Locks may be brought in for personal use but may not be left on lockers overnight. Money, cell phones and other valuables may be checked in at the main office. Family nights will be held as usual each Thursday evening from 6-9 p.m. with swimming from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Adult open swim and weight room hours will be 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, through Friday, Dec. 28. Holiday hours will also be observed on Dec. 31. No adult classes will be held during the holiday period.
Registrations are also being accepted for the Boys & Girls Club's Saturday morning basketball program, set to begin late January and open to boys and girls in first through seventh grades. No prior playing experience is required. Equal playing time is guaranteed for all participants. Flag football registrations for second through 12th grade members will be accepted until Friday, Jan. 4.
