Harmony Seniors Pizza Party Is Set
The Harmony Senior Citizens enjoyed their Christmas dinner on Dec. 6 at Rowdy Rooster in Panama. Christmas songs were sung by the Panama School Select Choir, and a ham dinner was enjoyed by 65 members. The angel tree gifts were collected along with canned goods for the food pantries in Panama and Ashville. Melvin Lord read the poem "Nothing Like Christmas," led the flag salute and gave the table grace. Dan Sweeney read three jokes. The 2013 agenda was handed out to all members. December birthdays were celebrated by Marie Dole, Carol Bergman, Kelly Ronald, Melvin Lord, Steve Raynor, Eloise Smith, Tom Smith, Don Sweeney and Lyle Walker. Anniversaries were also celebrated by Gay and Larry Ostrander, and Lyle and June Walker. Wendy Raynor gave a report on the shut-ins and those under the weather. Pig and Poke was won by Cora Delahoy. Kay Anderson won a gift certificate. A pizza party is planned for noon on Jan. 3 at the Panama United Methodist Church. The cost is $5 per member. The officers will be the committee and will furnish brownies. Anyone 55 or older is welcomed to join the group.
Christmas Party Is Set For Saturday
The Lakewood American Legion Post 1286 Auxiliary will hold a children's Christmas party from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday. Featured will be games, crafts, Christmas karaoke, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, pizza, and snacks. Every child attending will receive a present. This event is open to all children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews of Lakewood American Legion Post 1286 members. A sign-up sheet is in the post. For more information, call 763-1286.
