LITTLE VALLEY - Lori Pettit Rieman, Cattaraugus County district attorney, reported the following activity in Cattaraugus County Court on Monday, Nov. 26:
Katherine A. Hayes, 26, of Allegany, presently incarcerated in the Cattaraugus County Jail, entered a plea of guilty to third-degree robbery and third-degree grand larceny, both class D felonies, to satisfy a pending indictment. On May 25, 2012, in Allegany, Hayes stole property worth more than $3,000. Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 11.
Jose A. Morales, 37, of Dunkirk, entered a plea of guilty to third-degree burglary, a class D felony, to satisfy a pending indictment. On Jan. 5, 2012, in Dayton, Morales and another person entered or remained unlawfully in a building with intent to commit a crime. Sentencing is scheduled for March 11.
Carrie L. Mahone, 38, of Bergenny, N.Y., entered a plea of guilty to driving while intoxicated, a class E felony, to satisfy a pending indictment. On Feb. 24, 2012, in Napoli, she drove a motor vehicle with a .20 percent blood-alcohol content. Sentencing is scheduled for March 11.
Victor C. Spinler, 28, of Little Valley, entered a plea of guilty to aggravated driving while intoxicated, a class E felony, to satisfy a pending indictment. On Feb. 4, 2012, in Napoli, Spinler drove a motor vehicle with a .23 percent blood-alcohol content. Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 11.
Donald A. Hurd, 69, of Little Valley, presently incarcerated in the Cattaraugus County Jail, was arraigned and entered a plea of innocent to an indictment charging him with first-degree sexual abuse, a class D felony, forcible touching, a class A misdemeanor, and endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor. On May 20, 2012, in Little Valley, Hurd allegedly subjected a person less than 11 years old to sexual contact. The matter has been adjourned for motions.
Obidah Ramadhan, also known as OBI, 26, of Olean, presently incarcerated with the state Department of Corrections, was sentenced to two years to be followed by two years of post-release supervision for his conviction of third-degree attempted criminal sale of a controlled substance, a class C felony. On Jan. 25, 2012, in Olean, Ramadhan tried to sell crack cocaine.
Ashley M. King, 28, of Olean was sentenced to five years probation and a $2,000 fine for her conviction of aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child passenger, a class E felony. On April 12, 2012, in Olean, King drove a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs and while a child who was 15 years of age or less was a passenger in the vehicle.
John R. Hill, 29, of Arcade was sentenced to four weekends in the Cattaraugus County Jail and three years probation for his conviction of second-degree menacing, a class A misdemeanor. On Sept. 17, 2011 in Freedom, Hill intentionally placed or attempted to place another person in reasonable fear of physical injury, serious physical injury or death by displaying a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument.
Brandon C. Laborde, 28, of Olean was sentenced to two concurrent terms of two to six years in the state Department of Corrections and a concurrent term of one year for his convictions of two counts of third-degree burglary, class D felonies, and one count of third-degree attempted burglary, a class E felony. On March 16, 2012, in the town of Olean, Laborde, acting with another person, knowingly entered or remained unlawfully in a building. Additionally, on March 22, 2012, in Ischua, Laborde, acting with another person, knowingly entered or remained unlawfully in a building. On April 5, 2012, in Coldspring, Laborde, acting with another person, attempted to enter or remain unlawfully in a building.
Matthew L. Grimes, 19, of Franklinville, presently incarcerated in the Cattaraugus County Jail, was sentenced to one year in jail for his conviction of third-degree attempted burglary, a class E felony. On Jan. 27, 2012, in Machias, while acting with another person, he attempted to enter or remain unlawfully in a building with intent to commit a crime.
Thomas J. Demarco, 33, of Olean was sentenced to one to three years in the state Department of Corrections and a $1,000 fine for his conviction of aggravated driving while intoxicated, a class E felony. He was sentenced to a concurrent term of six months and fined $500 for his conviction of second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor. On Aug. 5, 2012, in Carrollton, Demarco drove a motor vehicle on a public road with a .23 percent blood-alcohol content when he knew or had reason to know his license or privilege of operating a motor vehicle in New York was revoked as a result of a prior alcohol-related conviction.
Thomas J. Demarco, 33, of Olean was sentenced to two concurrent terms of nine months for his convictions of third-degree assault, a class A misdemeanor, to satisfy a pending indictment. The indictment charged that on Dec. 17, 2011, in Olean, Demarco recklessly caused physical injury to another person and knowingly acted in a manner likely to be injurious to the physical, mental or moral welfare of a child less than 17 years old.
