Robert E. Parker

Robert E. Parker, 65, of 5484 Scandia Drive, Bemus Point, N.Y., died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at his home.

A native of Grove City, Pa., he was born June 4, 1947, a son of the late Glenn and Betty Parker.

Bob was a graduate of Edinboro University, and a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, serving from 1969 to 1974. During the 1980s, when information technology was a relatively new field, Bob worked at Edinboro University and Otterbein College in their information technology departments, helping to develop their systems. After he retired, Bob pursued another passion of his - antique dealing. He specialized in early American pewter.

He was a member of the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, Vikings, American Legion, Coast Guard Com-bat Veterans and Moon Brook Country Club. Bob was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Surviving are his wife, the former Holiday Murphy, whom he married Aug. 31, 1974; a brother, Tom Butler of Lansing, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews: G. Richard Murphy, Catherine Fedorka, Sara Murphy, Carleigh Fedorka, Nicholas Fedorka, Andrew Butler, and Timothy Butler.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Keith Parker.

The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Deacon Cathy Smith will officiate.

Friends will be received from 12:30-1:30 p.m., at the funeral home, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Court Appointed Special Advocates of Chautauqua County (CASA), 2 Academy St., Suite 5, Mayville, NY 14757.
