SkateFest is today at the Jamestown Savings Bank Arena and the Jamestown Skating Club will offer an open-skate session in conjunction with the Progressive Skating & Gymnastics Spectacular.
During the SkateFest, stars from the Progressive show will stop by the lesson times and circulate through each group class. When they stop by each class, they will give words of advice and cheer on the skaters. The stars may also demonstrate a skill to the group following the group photo at the conclusion of class.
SkateFest is free to the public and will include free skate rental provided by the arena and giveaways from United States Figure Skating.
There is no preregistration for the event and a release form will need to be signed. There are two time slots which will be filled on a first come, first served basis. The limit is 100 skaters per session.
Registration will begin at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The first session will run from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. and the second session will be 5:15 to 6 p.m.
