Zach Eklum of Jamestown, center, was honored as the top Western New York High School Football Scholar-Athlete of Section 6 at Illio Dipaolo's Restaurant recently. He was selected out of the all the football players in 84 Section 6 public high schools. Eklum has a 95.6 grade-point average and scored a 2,000 on his SAT, with a match score of 970. He is ranked first in his class of 313 students. The award was presented by Dick Gallagher, left, of the WNY Amateur Football Alliance. Also taking part in the presentation was JHS football coach Tom Langworthy.
