Elizabeth Ruth (Noble) Newberry, 87, of Cass Street, Westfield, formerly of Ripley, N.Y., died Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 5, 2012, at the Absolut Care of Westfield, following a brief illness.
Elizabeth was born Jan. 2, 1925, in Ripley, N.Y., the daughter of the late Lennox and Eva (Grimes) Noble.
A Ripley area resident most all her life, she had resided in Westfield since 2009. Elizabeth had been a toll investigator for C&E Telephone Co. for many years, retiring on Dec. 31, 1986.

A longtime member of the Ripley Presbyterian Church, she enjoyed quilting and made many personalized quilts for her family members. She also enjoyed gardening and traveling on her vacations throughout the United States and Canada.
She is survived by her three sons: Dennis Newberry of Fairport, N.Y., Daniel Newberry of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Stephen Newberry. She is the grandmother of Daniel Newberry of North East, Pa., Travis Newberry of Batavia, N.Y., and David Newberry of Randolph, N.Y.
She was preceded in death by her son, Larry O. Newberry.
Friends may call at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St., Westfield. on Sunday Dec. 9, 2012, from 2-5 p.m. and are invited to attend her funeral service on Monday morning Dec. 10, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Ripley, 20 W. Main Street, Ripley, N.Y., with Pastor Phil Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Quincy Rural Cemetery.
