MAYVILLE - Two Mayville youths have been taken to the Chautauqua County Jail after being indicted by a Chautauqua County Grand Jury.
A 17-year-old youth was charged with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree grand larceny, third-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny while a 16-year-old and was charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, third-degree grand larceny, petit larceny and fourth-degree criminal mischief.
They were charged at 1 p.m. Wednesday after warrants were issued by Chautauqua County Court following an investigation by the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Department into burglaries and larcenies in the Mayville area,
In July, deputies investigated two separate burglaries at 3 Seas Recreation and the Chautauqua Belle where numerous items were stolen and eventually recovered. An all-terrain vehicle from a property on Route 430 in Chautauqua was also stolen and recovered.
The Chautauqua County District Attorney's Office took both cases to the grand jury, resulting in indictments against the youths. They were taken to the county jail and will be in court later.
