Nick Baglia's clutch shot enabled Southwestern to take the lead for good in the fourth quarter of a non-league boys basketball game against Panama on Thursday night.
Baglia hit a 3-pointer early in the fourth quarter to put the Trojans into the lead to stay and they maintained it for a 51-47 decision to leave both teams at 1-1.
With Jake Pilling starting the fast break with his offensive rebounding, Southwestern jumped to a 35-24 edge in the first half. Pilling had six of his game-high 10 rebounds during the stretch and Peter Trathen added eight rebounds.

Led by Pilling, the Trojans grabbed 37 rebounds.
''Without a question, we led in rebounding,'' said Southwestern coach Andy Krenzer.
Kyle Radack had 11 points as the Trojans built up an 11-point lead at intermission, but in the second half it was Panama holding a 23-16 edge and the panthers briefly took the lead.
Then Baglia came through with his 3-pointer early in the fourth quarter and the Trojans never looked back.
Radack topped the Trojans with 15 points, Trathen had 10 and Alek Peck and Baglia scored nine each. Peck had six assists.
Odell swished 16 points with four 3-pointers and Alec Blose 15 points for Panama. Blose grabbed seven rebounds and delivered five steals.

CLYMER TOPS FALCONER
CLYMER - ''We showed more energy in the third quarter,'' said coach Dan White after Clymer (2-0) broke it open against Falconer (0-3).
Dan Lictus hit a pair of three-pointers en route to nine points during a 24-11 third stanza that led to an eventual 68-45 victory.
Clymer was ahead of 28-24 at halftime, but didn't show the same energy it did against Southwestern on Monday. After intermission, they showed that energy.
Lictus wound up with a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds while Jake Wiggers added 17 points for the Pirates. Garrett McAfoose had three steals and Austin Crosby three assists.
For Falconer, which was outrebounded, 32-24, with Devon Cameron had 10 rebounds, Kyle Petersen had four steals and Nick Conti four assists.
Conti led the Falconer scoring with 12 points followed by Mitch Carter and Cameron with nine points and Mike Wilcox with eight points.

THUNDERBIRDS ROLL
RIPLEY - Chautauqua Lake exploded for 22 points and held Ripley two just two points in the second quarter as the Thunderbirds downed the Eagles, 62-38.
Already holding a commanding 21-7 first-quarter lead, the Thunderbirds pushed the cushion to 43-9 at halftime.
Ian Clute led the scoring attack for Chautauqua Lake with 19 points while A.J. Hulton had 17. Kyle Mayer added 11 for the winners.
The Eagles fared much better in the second half as they outscored the visitors, 29-19. Ripley coach Adam Chambers played some of his younger players in the second half and they did not let him down. Eighth-grader Aaron Swan drained three treys to highlight the Eagles' second half. Kyle Hammond led Ripley in scoring with 12. Meanwhile, Vinny Shioleno had four points, four rebounds and five steals in defeat.
