Richard Campbell, from Falconer, recently moved to the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center and has opened a "workshop" where he is busily making beaded jewelry items for Christmas gifts.
He started by making gifts for the people on his unit, and before long he had requests for every resident in the skilled nursing facility.
"My whole life I have enjoyed drawing, beading and woodworking," he said. "This year I'm going to play Santa Claus for the first time in my life and deliver the gifts personally, which I have always wanted to do."

The beading materials are purchased by the Lutheran activities department.
"Now we're in the process of wrapping them all," Campbell said. "I like to stay busy, and it's fun to make things for others."
"Richard is a joy to have living here at Lutheran," said Annie Gustafson, activities director. "We're excited to have someone with his passion and talent making gifts for our other residents. It's like having Santa right here in our midst. He even looks like him, so the residents, staff and families will really enjoy it when he makes his deliveries for Christmas day."
