LANCASTER - Ryan Hunter of Canisius was awarded the 10th annual Trench Trophy on Wednesday night at the Lancaster Elk Club as Western New York high school football's top lineman.
The other nine finalists included John Czech and Cortland Haines of Jamestown, Jake Swan of Maple Grove and Nick Nocek of Fredonia.
Czech and Haines made it only the second time in the 10 years of the award that teammates have been finalists.
The remainder of the finalists were Jason Bunk of Alden, Sean Murphy of Timon, Mike Senn of Orchard Park, Khalil Sommerville of Bennett and Tyler Studd of Springville.
