Andrew Marsh's collegiate swimming career at West Virginia University is off to a fine start.
The former Jamestown High School All-American was part of he 400-freestyle relay team that finished ninth at the AT&T U.S. Winter Nationals at the University of Texas last weekend.
In other results this season, Marsh was a member of the 200 medley relay team that placed third with a time of 1:36.14 against Penn State; was victorious in the 100 backstroke (52.49) in a meet with Villanova and James Madison; and claimed the 100 back (51.51) against Cincinnati.
A four-time team most valuable swimmer at JHS, Marsh was a four-time state championship qualifier and school record holder in the 100 back, 100 freestyle, 50 freestyle, 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly. In addition, he was a three-time NISCA/Speedo Boys High School Swimming All-American in the 100 butterfly and the 100 backstroke; and was a champion in the 100 fly (49.75), while finishing third in the 100 back (50.97) at the 2012 state meet.
Marsh is the son of Charlie and Jayne Marsh of Bemus Point.

Erinne Cunningham (Jamestown/Jamestown) is averaging 9.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.0 steals for the Slippery Rock women's basketball game.
A senior, Cunningham has started all 31 games of her career, including all five this season. Last season, she averaged 8.7 points, 2.8 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game.

Jaysean Paige is averaging 14.5 points and 4.6 rebounds for the College of Southern Idaho, a Division 1 NJCAA team. At last report, the former Jamestown High School star had scored in double figures in nine of 11 games - all starts - including a season-high 24 points against Indian Hills Community College.
Southern Idaho was 9-2 at last report and is on a four-game winning streak.

St. Bonaventure University's Lauren Caldwell (Jamestown/Jamestown) placed 11th in the 200 butterfly (2:06.91), 13th in the 100 butterfly (58.04), 20th in the 200 individual medley (2:09.05) and was part of the 400 medley relay (3:56.82) that took 12th at the Zippy Invitational at the University of Akron last weekend.

Alfred University sophomore center Dalton Walsh (Stockton/Cassadaga Valley) scored 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds in a win over Cazenovia and added 15 points and six boards in a loss to Wells. The Saxons are 2-4 so far this season.

Junior midfielder Jordan Steele (Falconer/Falconer) earned second-team all-Presidents' Athletic Conference honors for the Westminster College women's soccer team.
A two-year starter, Steele started all 19 games and tied for fourth on the team with a career-high two assists.

Dalton Kashmer (South Dayton/Pine Valley) scored 15 points to help the SUNY Fredonia men's basketball team to a 91-69 victory over D'Youville and pulled down eight rebounds in a 72-66 win over Oneonta.

Jenna Austin (Pine Valley) scored five points to go along with three assists and three steals to help SUNY Fredonia down Oneonta, 57-47, in a SUNYAC women's basketball game last weekend.
