Ann Schmitt, 76, a former resident of Jamestown, N.Y., passed away on Dec. 1, 2012, in Spring Hill, Fla.
She was the daughter of William H. Cody and Alice "Rowett" Cody.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, William F. Cody.
Ann is survived by her husband of 55 years, James Schmitt of Spring Hill, Fla.; her son, James Schmitt Jr. and his fiance, Jennifer Canfield, of Jamestown, N.Y.; her daughter, Patricia Schmitt-Slaughter of Erie, Pa.; and a grandson, Alexander Slaughter of Pitts-burgh, Pa.
She raised her two children, did volunteer work in the Jamestown Community, worked as a sales associate at the Bon-Ton, and was a member of the Conewango Valley Country Club in Warren, Pa.
