For many years, later in her life, she was a paper car-rier for The Jamestown Post-Journal. Many knew her as the newspaper lady until 1995, when at the age of 88, she finally gave up The Post-Journal paper route she was holding for her grandchildren, Jocelyn and Morgan until they were old enough.

She was the daughter of a Georgia farmer, a loving sister, a devoted mother and grandmother, who maintained a healthy lifes-tyle throughout her 95 years. She was fully able to maintain her own residence, shop, drive, and carry out all her errands. Her doctor stated, "I've never seen a 95 year old walk like you." Sarah was never a burden to anyone, and in fact lovingly cared for Leslie Bamburoski for the past eighteen years, as if she was her own grand-daughter.

Surviving are a son, Lon Bishop of Davie, Fla.; two grandchildren: Morgan Bishop (Kristy Bishop) of Whitesboro, N.Y., and Jocelyn Bishop of Pittsburgh, Pa.; a great grand-son, Conner Bishop of Pittsburgh, Pa.; a sister, Betty Volkwein of Stuart, Fla.; a loving daughter-in-law, Melanie A. Liddie of Lakewood, N.Y.; many nieces and nephews; and Leslie Bamburoski of Lakewood, N.Y., as near a grand-daughter as anyone could ever be.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Igna-tius D'Anna, who died July 4, 1977; and by six brothers and four sisters.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Powers, Present & Sixbey Funeral Home. The Rev. John Kuhlmann will officiate.
