Robert H. “Bob” Lincoln

MAYVILLE Robert H. "Bob" Lincoln, 65, of Cocoa Beach, Fla., formerly of Whallon Street, Mayville, died Friday (Nov. 30, 2012), in Melbourne, Fla.

He was born Sept. 15, 1947, in Westfield, N.Y., the son of the late Robert B. and Evelyn M. Jacobson Lincoln.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1970 to 1972, where he was a military policeman. Bob was a graduate of the former Mayville Central School and of Niagara University.

Bob was a member of the Mayville American Legion, Cocoa Beach Country Club "Ball Busters" and the Loyal Order of the Moose.

Bob was an avid golfer and lover of all sports, especially his beloved Boston Red Sox.

He is survived by three daughters: Allison Lincoln of Cocoa Beach, Fla., Leslie (M. Alexander) Calder of Lausanne, Switzerland, and Alexandra Lincoln of Dayton, Ohio; one grandson, Owen of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; one brother, David Lincoln of Hornburg, Germany; and a sister, Emily (John) Costigan of Naples, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Waterman Lincoln, whom he married June 21, 1975, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mayville, and who died June 4, 2003.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday (Dec. 10, 2012), in St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church in Mayville. The Rev. Todd Remick will be the celebrant. Burial will be in the Mayville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, in the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Jane Lincoln scholarship fund at Chautauqua Lake Central School, 100 North Erie St., Mayville, NY 14757.
