The Jamestown Police Department has charged two people with crack cocaine trafficking after a traffic stop Saturday.
Alex Oliveres, 22, of Jamestown, and Tyshon L. Sims, 22, of Buffalo were charged when their vehicle was pulled over on North Main Street, near the city line, at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
Police report both men were found with crack cocaine that was packaged to be sold. Oliveres was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and felony evidence tampering after he allegedly tried to conceal some of the cocaine to keep it from being found by police. Oliveres was also charged with criminal possession of a weapon after police found a switchblade knife. Sims was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Sims and Oliveres were arraigned in Jamestown City Court and taken to the Chautauqua County Jail.
The investigation is part of an ongoing case by the Jamestown Police Department and New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team.
