Stockton To Hold Light Contest

STOCKTON - The Stockton Planning Board is hosting a community Christmas lighting contest. Applications are available at the Stockton Town Library or the town clerk's office. Applications must be returned by 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, to the town hall or the library. Contest judging will take place at 6 p.m. on or after Dec. 23.

Falconer Planning Board To Meet

FALCONER - The Falconer Planning Board will meet on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the board room of the Community Building. The public is welcome to attend.

Westfield Rec Dept. To Host Trip

On Tuesday, Dec. 11, the Westfield Recreation Department will travel to Cleveland to see the James A. Garfield House and the Christmas lights display at GE's Nela Park. Dinner will be at the Cracker Barrel. For more information or to make reservations, call the Westfield Recreation Department at 326-4243.

Historical Society Event Is Dec. 9

WESTFIELD - The Chautauqua County Historical Society will hold its annual Holiday Open House on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. p.m. at the McClurg Museum in Westfield. The event will be the last opportunity for the public to view the exhibit - "Honoring the 9th New York Cavalry." The day will also feature music provided by The McClurg Street String Band, composed of Westfield Academy and Central School music students. Food and refreshments will also be provided. There is no cost to attend the open house, but donations are encouraged. For more information call 326-2977.

Food Express Truck To?Stop Tuesday

ASHVILLE - The Western New York Food Express Truck will be at the Ashville United Methodist Church from noon to 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday. Proof of address is required for the free food which is mostly fresh produce, to the following qualifying zip codes: Ashville - 14710, Bemus Point - 14712, Celoron - 14720, Lakewood - 14750, Niobe - 14758, Panama - 14767, Stow - 14785, and during the winter months, Clymer - 14724, and Sherman - 14781.

Historian Is Guest On?Senior Report

MAYVILLE - Senior Report with Reed Powers will have Michelle Henry as the guest on Saturday's television program. Henry is the historian for Chautauqua County. The live, call-in program airs from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday. Individuals may call 753-5225 during that time with questions or comments. The program is rebroadcast each day at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. for some communities. Senior Report is shown live Saturday mornings on Time Warner cable systems covering the following communities: Brocton, Cassadaga, Chautauqua, Fredonia, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Ripley, Sherman, Stockton and Westfield on Channel 5. In Dunkirk, Forestville, Hanover, Irving and Silver Creek the program is on channel 19. The show originates at the Access Channel 5 studio in Mayville.
