The Boys & Girls Club of Jamestown is currently accepting registrations for its recreational and instructional Saturday Morning Basketball Program, with a deadline of Jan. 12.
A basketball clinic will be held for all registered boys and girls in grades 1-7 on Jan.19 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Basketball games will begin Jan, 26.
Age groups will be formed by school grade, with practices or games to be scheduled one hour per week on Saturday mornings.
All Boys & Girls Club youth sports programs offer open registration with no tryouts or minimum skill requirements, stressing fundamental skills, sportsmanship and team play. No prior playing experience is required.
Teams are formed based on player ages, school grades and experience. Teams from prior programs or playing seasons are not kept together.
The basketball registration fee is $30 per participant. A current Boys & Girls Club of Jamestown youth membership is also required, available at a cost of $15, valid one full year from the date of purchase. Payments are required at the time of registration.
Program registration, partial scholarship assistance requests and Club membership forms may be found on the Boys & Girls Club of Jamestown's website at www.bgcjamestown.org. Scholarships are based on need and availability of funds.
Volunteer coaches and officials are needed.
