LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
LAKEWOOD - Carlos R. Pacheco, 31, of 124 Chautauqua Ave., Lakewood was charged at 12:10 a.m. Friday with second-degree harassment and endangering the welfare of a minor. Officers were called to a violent domestic where Pacheco had allegedly been hitting his girlfriend several times, grabbed her by the hair and threw her to the ground while she was holding their 1-year old daughter. Pacheco was taken into custody and charged. He was arraigned and committed to the Chautauqua County Jail. Pacheco is an illegal immigrant and the Department of Homeland Security ICE Division was contacted to follow up on him.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
Jason J. Benton, 21, of Buffalo was charged at 6:57 p.m. on Thursday with second-degree criminal trespass and two city count bench warrants. Officers were at 59 Franklin St., investigating a burglary not related to this incident. While speaking to the homeowner, a female came downstairs and told the officer that there was a male upstairs who was unknown to them. The male was located at the back door of the residence by the officer and detained. He was identified as Benton and two outstanding bench warrants were found for his arrest. It was determined that Benton observed the marked police unit approaching him on Franklin Street and he was attempting to hide from officers inside the residence when he was discovered. He was transported to the city jail, pending arraignment.
TOWN OF ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT
August L. Viele, 41, of 18 Ohio St., Jamestown was charged on Tuesday, Nov. 19 with petit larceny. The Ellicott Police Department charged Viele after an investigation that he stole property from his employer at a Fairmount Avenue store. He was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Ellicott Court at 6 p.m. on Dec. 11.
