Frank and Josephine Fonti of Falconer, N.Y., celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on July 29, 2012, with a marriage renewal blessing at Our Lady of Loreto. Father Janaczek performed the ceremony, and an anniversary party was held at the Grandview of Ellington, N.Y. The celebration was hosted by their children: Phillip (Sherry) Fonti of Falconer, N.Y., and Frank (Linda) Fonti of Gowanda, N.Y., and their grandchildren: Patrick Fonti of Seminole, Fla., Andrea (Dieder) Fonti-Voeltz of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Kara Fonti of Gowanda, N.Y. Out of state guests attended from Florida and Utah.
Fonti and the former Josephine Milanowski were married July 26, 1947 in Holy Cross Church, Salamanca. Father Majeroski performed the ceremony.
A veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy, Fonti is retired from Carborundum, and is employed as the town of Ellicott code enforcement officer. He is also a member of the American Legion and the SEABEE Island X11 Chapter. They are both longtime members of Our Lady of Loreto Church in Falconer.
