Assemblyman Joseph M. Giglio (R, C, I-Gowanda) will host the 8th annual holiday open house at his Olean district office for residents of the Southern Tier. Giglio will be accepting new, unwrapped toys for the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program.
The open house gives residents a chance to visit Giglio's Olean office, which will also serve as a dropoff site for donations. The open house will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday at 700 W. State St., Westgate Plaza in Olean. Light refreshments will be served.
"It's hard to believe that this will be the eighth year that I've participated in the Toys for Tots drive," said Giglio. "It seems like each year we have more and more people dropping off new toys for children in need. It's so impressive to see the donations pile up in the office and to help load them into the truck and trailer. I'm thankful to everyone who lends a hand or donates a toy, not just for Toys for Tots, but for all of the community organizations that depend on donations and volunteers. As we enjoy the Christmas holiday with our families, let us remember the less fortunate, and use our abilities to brighten the season for others."
Assemblyman Giglio will accept contributions for the Toys for Tots program until Dec. 13 at the district office during the hours of 9 a.m. through 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
