The members of the Jamestown Interclub Council met recently at the Marvin Community House. The Zonta Club of Jamestown was the host organization for the evening.
During the business meeting, Jane Winter, council president, announced that Jamestown Interclub Council is now in its 75th year of existence. It has kept the women of the community informed of important local events during that time. The Southern Tier Legal Secretaries were introduced as the newest organization to join Interclub Council. The 15 organizations announced their upcoming special events and projects.
Journey Gunderson, executive director of the Luci-Desi Center, gave an informative talk on Lucille Ball, as well as on Desi Arnaz. Members were interested to hear about Jamestown's own "Queen of Comedy" and the many facets of the Luci-Desi Center.

The mission of the Jamestown Interclub Council is to sponsor and carry through, by the support of the member women's organizations, various activities having as their purpose the advancement of community interests, which can be accomplished through united action. There are 15 member organizations: Allen Park Women's Club; American Association of University Women; Bemus Point Study Club; Chautauqua Shores Chorus; Creche; Daughters of the American Revolution; Delta Kappa Gamma Society International; Marvin Community House; Jamestown Chapter of New York State Women Inc.; Norden Women's Club; Preceptor Alpha Upsilon Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi; Southern Tier Legal Secretaries; Women's Club of Lakewood; YWCA of Jamestown, and Zonta Club of Jamestown.
The Jamestown Interclub Council supports local women in their endeavor to help make the area a more caring and productive place in which to work and live. The 15 organizations represent over 1,000 women in the community. Jamestown Interclub Council officers are Jane Winter, president; June Diethrick, vice president; B. Dolores Thompson, treasurer; and Candy Joslyn, secretary.
