Audubon Calendar Order Deadline Is Friday

November 27, 2012
The Post-Journal

Dec. 1 is the deadline to order the 2013 natural history calendar produced by the Audubon Center and Sanctuary.

All of the calendar's many nature images - both the monthly featured photos and the many smaller ones - were recorded by area photographers, including Audubon staff and volunteers, Audubon Nature Photography Club and community members as well as professionals for donating their photographs for this fundraiser.

Major images were contributed by Dave Cooney, Terry LeBaron, Terry Lorenc, Jeremy Martin, Sandra Rothenburg, Jennifer Schlick, Jeff Tome and Angus Watkins. Additional photographs throughout the calendar came from Barbara Case, Rex Everett, Katie Finch, Sarah Hatfield, Tom Leblanc and Skip Park.

The Audubon Center and Sanctuary has created a unique natural history calendar for 2013, with facts about nature on each page. One of the featured images is this bald eagle by Angus Watkins, Audubon Nature Photography Club member and retired minister. The deadline to order a calendar is Dec. 1.

Calendars sell for $18 - $16 for Friends of the Nature Center - and must be pre-ordered by Dec. 1. They can be picked up at the Nature Center on or after Dec. 15 or shipped for $4 a calendar.

To order a calendar, visit the Audubon Center and Sanctuary, call Audubon at 569-2345, or use the online form at jamestownaudubon.org.

A package of Audubon Bucks contains five $5 gift certificates plus a free pass for building or festival admission. Packets are $25 if purchased at the Audubon or $28 if ordered at jamestownaudubon.weebly.com/audubon-bucks.html.

The Audubon Center and Sanctuary is at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile off Route 62 between Jamestown and Warren. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday and Saturday and 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Bald eagle viewing and trails for hiking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing are open dawn to dusk.
