Harry L. Karalus

BROCTON - Harry L. Karalus, 76, of Route 380, passed away, Sunday (Nov. 25, 2012), at Saint Vincent Health Center in Erie, with his family by his side.

He was born Feb. 6, 1936, in Dunkirk, the son of Leo and Jenny Malkowski Karalus.

Harry served 10 years in the U.S. Navy, where he was aboard the USS Los Angeles, and also served during the Vietnam conflict.

He was a member of the War Vets of Fluvanna, a life member of the First Ward Falcons Club in Dunkirk, and Post 434 American Legion, Brocton.

He had worked for Crescent Tool, AJ Wahl and the Brocton Legion.

He loved hunting, fishing, and casino.

Harry was survived by his wife, Ruth Ormsby Karalus, whom he married June 28, 1958; three daughters: Lori Karalus of Brocton, Kim (David) Patterson of Forestburgh, N.Y., and Julie Karalus of Amsterdam, N.Y.; a son, Jim Karalus of Brocton; a daughter-in-law, Ang Karalus of Brocton; five grandchildren: Kristina, Jamie and Jimmy Karalus of Brocton, Skyler Karalus of Amsterdam, and Alexandra (Joe) Ringhoff of Schenectady; two great- grandsons: Joey and Jacob Ringhoff of Schenectady; and a brother, Ron (Ginny) Karalus of Charles Town, W. Va.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Stanley Karalus; two sisters: Annette and Elaine Karalus; and his in-laws, Lawrence and Julia Ormsby.

Private family services will be held at a later date. No visitation will be ob-served.

The Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Brocton Fire/Emer-gency Department.
