Tillie Solomonson, second from right, Lakewood Chautauqua South Rotary president, is shown at an appreciation dinner with several people who work behind the scenes for scholarships, student of the month and Kid's Day for Lakewood area children. From left are Dan George, Southwestern Schools superintendent and William Caldwell, Southwestern Elementary principal, who selects the fifth grade level student of the month; Mindy Sandburg, owner of Mindy's Place, responsible for Lakewood Kid's Day and who helps Rotary earn money by allowing the group to host its pancake breakfast in her restaurant; and Leighton Swanson, host. Standing in front of Ms. Sandburg is her granddaughter, Mackenzie Anderson, who helps in gathering supplies and numbering squares for Kid's Day. Also honored was Holly Richardson, owner of Off the Beaten Path.
