Thomas E. Peterson Sr. 77, of 854 Prendergast Ave. Jamestown, passed away at 3:50 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 22, 2012) in W.C.A. Hospital.
An area resident for most of his life he was born June 10, 1935 in Corry, Pa. a son of the late Frederick and Virginia Stufflebeam Peterson.
Thomas was a veteran of the U.S. Army and before his retirement he was em-ployed by Adanlock Corporation in Jamestown for many years.
Surviving are three sons: Thomas E. Peterson, Jr. of Tidioute, Pa., Daniel K. Peterson and Randy Peterson, both of Jamestown; a daughter, Annette M. John-son of Jamestown; five grandchildren: John Johnson IV of Richmond, Va., Lisa Johnson of Jamestown, Danielle Johnson of Miss., Michael Peterson of Maple Springs, Mark Proctor of Ariz.; five great grandchil-dren; three sisters: Betty Jane, Dixie and Freda; and a brother, Fred "Skeeter" Peterson of Lakewood.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Rose M. Barrows, whom he mar-ried Nov. 2, 1956 and who died June 15, 2000; a daughter, Joanne K. Peter-son who died Dec. 8, 1999; and a brother, Rexford Peterson.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednes-day in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald E. Ray, retired chaplain of W.C.A. Hospital will offici-ate. Inurnment will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer So-ciety.
