The Post-Journal

CELORON - Celoron officials will host the annual holiday dinner at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, in the Celoron Community Center.

Reservations must be made in advance by Monday, Nov. 26, by calling 487-4175.

The village of Celoron, in conjunction with Brigiotta's Farmland, Produce & Garden Center, will again be sponsoring a ''Home Lighting Contest'' in the village. Judging will take place on Saturday, Dec. 1, and Sunday, Dec. 2. Registrations are due by Monday. Forms are available on the village website, www.celoronny.org, under events. Gift certificates from Brigiotta's will be awarded to the winners at the ''Olde Fashion Christmas Celebration'' on Sunday, Dec. 9, in Lucille Ball Memorial Park at 5 p.m.

There is still time for residents of Celoron to register their children and/or grandchildren for the annual ''Children's Christmas Party'' on Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 6 p.m.. The event is co-sponsored and will be held at The Resource Center, 200 Dunham Ave. Registration forms are available on the village website, under Events, and are due by Tuesday, at village hall, 21 Boulevard Ave.

''As you know, Celoron has sponsored an 'Olde Fashion Christmas Celebration' and this year will be our third annual event,'' Keeney said. ''The central theme around the concept of an 'Olde Fashion Christmas Celebration' is to create an event in which the community comes together. We have invited members of the Celoron family to decorate a tree in Lucille Ball Memorial Park as a demonstration of community unity. At the first event, we had four trees and last year the number of community trees jumped to 10. Last year's trees were sponsored by the Celoron United Methodist Church, C & A Auto and Marine, the Chautauqua Lake Fishing Association, Store and Lock Self Storage, Day Rehab, Moose Club, Celoron Rod and Gun Club and the Celoron Fire Department. We hope that all of those listed above will be returning and that we can add a few more trees for the 2012 celebration. The tree presentation this year will use the Lucille Ball statue as the center and spread the trees out a bit to increase their artistic viewing. We need to know as soon as possible if you plan to sponsor and decorate a tree. We will add a name plaque at your tree so all will know that you sponsored a village tree.''

The Olde Fashion Christmas Celebration will be held in Lucille Ball Memorial Park from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9. The event will feature horse drawn wagon rides, Christmas music and hot cocoa at the Celoron Community Center; the lighting of the Christmas trees in the park; carols at the Lucy statue; an opportunity to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus; and the announcement of the home lighting contest and Christmas tree decorating winners. All are welcome to attend.
