Theta Beta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi International Society met for a dinner meeting on Nov. 1 in Zebro's, Westfield. Nancy Palmer offered grace. Joyce Anderson presided. Minutes were approved as read with minor additions. Rose Van Valkenburg gave the treasurer's report. Correspondence was read from the Lakeview Apartment seniors for the harvest basket. Discussion was on pledge ritual and progression ceremonies. Ms. Palmer presented a program on removing hazards from your home. Secret sister names were revealed and gifts exchanged.
Members met in the home of Joyce H. Anderson, hosted by Inta Damcott and Brenda Meeder, on Oct. 25. Mrs. Anderson presented a program on harvest festivities and read ''Ghostly Adventures'' by Christopher Balzano. Guests Amy and Katherine Schultze demonstrated and aided members in fashioning Halloween pumpkins. The service committee and chapter members organized and delivered Halloween fruit baskets to the Mayville Senior Apartments. Discussion was on the delivery of Thanksgiving treats to Sherman North Haven Seniors; service projects for Christmas and the spring; the chapter birthday celebration and revealing secret sisters. Ms. VanVolkenberg closed the meeting with a reading from the Beta Sigma Phi book on pledge training.
