Nancy Palmer and Judy Roberts co-hosted a recent meeting of Theta Beta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi in the home of Diane Brosius of Sherman, who presented a program on "Mental Enrichment: Modern Methods for Fuller Lives," discussing the technique of transcendental meditation and its value for an effective method of self-development. Various methods of mind-control were also discussed, including brainwashing, hypnosis, and the Equisync Method, which entrains the brain's wave patterns.
Joyce Anderson, president, presided. Correspondence was read including a thank you from the Mayville Senior Apartments for fruit baskets that were delivered for Halloween and a letter from International Beta Sigma Phi on the New York state convention in Rochester, Oct. 3-5, 2014.
Discussion was on the distribution of bread and fruit baskets to the seniors in the North Haven Apartments in Sherman for Thanksgiving.
A list of children's names for Christmas gift-giving was read from the CASA organization. This will be the chapter's service project for Christmas.
