Senior John Czech of Jamestown was selected as the defensive player of the year for the Class AA South Division football for 2012.
Czech capped his three-year career as a starter by being named at end for the Red Raiders on the first team.
Another senior, Mike Watson, was named at linebacker for Jamestown.
Offensively, lineman Cortland Haines, wide receivers Stephen Carlson and Zach Panebianco, quarterback Jake Sisson and running back Da'Quan Hollingsworth were other Red Raiders chosen to the first team.
Carlson and Panebianco are sophomores, Sisson and Hollingsworth are juniors and Haines is a senior.
Senior running back Mitch Wilson of Orchard Park is the offensive player of the year and his coach, Gene Tundo, was selected the coach of the year.
Evan Wachowski of Lancaster is the team sportsmanship award winner.
Sophomore Joe Mistretta in addition to seniors Conner Anderson and Tom Fortune were named for Jamestown to the second team.
Honorable mention for the Red Raiders went to juniors Jacob McBride and Josh Colwell, and sophomore Jacis Blake.
The Class AA North Division saw senior running back James Chambers of Lockport as the offensive player of the year with coach of the year going to the entire Lockport staff.
Senior linebacker Imani Davis of Niagara Falls is the defensive player of the year and teammate Tikere Ralands was the sportsmanship winner. The team sportsmanship winners is Niagara Falls.
