HERKIMER - Kelsey Akin was a double winner at the Herkimer Fall Invitational, leading the Jamestown Community College swimming team to a first-place finish.
Akin won the 200 backstroke in 2:23.74 and the 400 individual medley in 5:23.98 as the Jayhawks racked up a combined 537 points. Genesee Community College was second with 483, SUNY Delhi third with 416, Alfred State fourth with 288 and host Herkimer fifth with 149.
The women won easily with 310 points, Genesee was second with 173, while the men placed third.
Along with Akin, Emily Holt won the 500 freestyle (5:56.54) and Allison Chitester captured the mile race in 22:01.44. For the men, Victor Hallett hit the wall first in the 200 freestyle (2:03.39) and Tom Prinzi was second in the 400 IM (5:06.79).
Both the men (3:47.58) and women (4:22.51) won the Invitational's 400 freestyle relay event.
Jamestown is back in action on Nov. 30 when it takes part in the Monroe CC Invitational.
