Panama Fire Company was established in 1931 and recently became a fire district. Panama responds to, on average, 213 calls per year - which is for rescue calls, car accidents, fires (buildings and brush), and numerous mutual-aid calls. In 1985, Panama Fire Co. assisted its residents with the tornado that hit their town. Then the following year, 1986, Panama had to deal with the flood that washed through the village. In 1989, the largest fire broke out at Fairbanks Farms that this department has had to handle. Numerous man hours were invested into these very large calls of help from their community. Many man hours also used to be invested in door-to-door fund drive, but know they utilize the fund drive through mailings. The Panama Fire Company would like to express a great thank you to all of those that have supported them.
The fire district covers 49 square miles and a population of 3,400 residents. There are six EMTs included in the department.
