Scoring Balance Sends Jayhawks To Road Win

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Jamestown Community College had its best scoring balance of the season in going over the .500 mark (4-3) Saturday afternoon at the Columbus State Tournament.

Led by Davonte Dunham with 22 points and Kenny Stokes with 20, the Jayhawks placed five players in double figures in defeating Ohio State Newark, 95-79.

Tyreek Jewell had 13 points while JCC reserves Michael Forrest and Keyonee Hill added 11 points each.

The largest lead for JCC was 21 points at 82-61 while there were two ties and two lead changes.

Dunham sank 9-of-20, including 4-of-8 from 3-point range for JCC. Forrest was 4-of-6 from the field, including 3-of-4 on 3-pointers. As a team, the Jayhawks were 12-of-27 from beyond the arc.

Meanwhile, Stokes hit 7-of-12 floor shots and 4-4 from the foul line for JCC.

The Jayhawks had 44 rebounds with Edward Newell grabbing 10 while Ohio State Newark recorded 49 with Huffman leading with 12.

Draughton sank 22 points, Crane 18 points and Huffman 16 points in the loss.

Calvin Sterling handed out nine assists in the win.

JCC will travel to Butler CC for a 7 p.m. game on Tuesday.
