LAKEWOOD - A total of 120 entries were received for The Post-Journal Classic tennis tournament that begins today at the Lakewood Family YMCA.
Action today will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Play resumes on Saturday at 7 a.m. and will continue until 10:03 p.m. Sunday's play begins at 7 a.m. with finals and will end around 7 p.m.
Martin Hoch from Jamestown is the top seed in the Men's Open Division. Other top seeds in that division are Jim Panebianco from Olean, Jeff Nuhfer from Warren, Shane Burns of Erie, Thomas Pelligrino of Warren and Gary Thompson of Fredonia.
The Women's Open defending champion, Rachel Mole of Frewsburg, will also be playing in the Men's Open Division.
The Men's A Singles Division includes a couple of top area high school players, Cooper Miller from Falconer and Matt Johnson from Southwestern.
The top seed in the Men's Open Doubles Division is the team of Bob Olson and Jeff Bartsch.
