Tyreek Jewell of the Jamestown Community College men's basketball team was named the male co-athlete of the week for NJCAA Region 3.
After four games, Jewell leads NJCAA Division II in scoring with 32 points per game and is also in the top 10 in the nation in rebounding with 12 per game.
Last Wednesday night the freshman from the Bronx scored 23 points against Pitt-Titusville and last weekend in a tournament at Frederick CC he tallied 29 points the first night against Chesapeake College and 38 the second night against Division 1 Frederick.

JCC BUSY TONIGHT
The Jamestown Community College men's basketball team will have a home game at 7 tonight against the CC of Allegheny County.
The Jayhawks, an NJCAA Division II team, come into the game with a 1-3 record while CCAC, a Division III squad, is 1-1 with a loss to Monroe CC and a win over Mercyhurst North East.
The JCC men and women's swim team is also home tonight with a meet against Genesee CC at 6.
