Allison Oste, a Jamestown native, won the Student Paper Award at the New York State Sociological Association Conference recently held at the State University at Potsdam.
Each year, the association recognizes one undergraduate student with its Outstanding Student Paper Award. To be eligible, students must present their paper during the conference. Ms. Oste's paper, "Advertising and its Effects on People Who Are Blind and Visually Impaired,'' was chosen as the winner. Ms. Oste is a 2012 graduate of Buffalo State College.
