Outdoor Club To Hike Thursday

On Thursday, the Allegheny Outdoor Club will hike the Tidioute River Trail. This is an easy, in-and-out hike that will take about three hours. Participants will meet at the water treatment plant in Tidioute at 1:30 p.m. From Route 62, cross the Allegheny River on the bridge then turn left on Main Street and drive through town to the treatment plant parking area on the left. For more information, call Charlene James at 814-463-7394 or 814-516-6595. On Sunday, the club will hold its annual dinner meeting at Olmsted Manor. The speaker will be Cecile Stelter, district forester for the Cornplanter State Forest.

CCS Performance Begins Thursday

CLYMER - The Clymer Central School Class of 2013 will be presenting Arlene's Beauty World by Michael Soetaert. Performances are at 7 p.m. in the CCS Student Performance Center on Thursday, Friday and Wednesday, Nov. 21. Tickets are $5.

CRCF To Host Open House

As part of National Community Foundation Week, the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation is hosting an open house on Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon. Guests will have the opportunity to mingle with staff, board members and friends of the foundation while celebrating the community's accomplishments over the past year. WJTN'S Jim Roselle will broadcast live all morning. The Community Foundation is located at 418 Spring St. in Jamestown. For more information call, 661-3390.

Food Drop-Off Site Announced

St. James Roman Catholic Church, 27 Allen St., Jamestown is the drop-off site for nonperishable food that will be sent to the New York City area to help those affected by Hurricane Sandy. The products are designated for Staten Island. Goods are accepted at St. James between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. through Friday in the back parking lot of the church. At 12:30 p.m. Sunday, the food will be loaded onto a tractor-trailer to be shipped. St. James officials are also asking for help preparing the boxes for shipping. For more information, call Tom Franco at 484-0250 or 397-1188. A schedule will also be posted at St. James in the rectory. The Knights of Columbus Council 926 and the Diocese of Buffalo will provide a semi-tractor truck to arrive at the Saint James site on Sunday. This truck will be loaded with all the food products collected. Items requested are all types of canned foods, bottled water, juices, pet food and health and beauty personal products.

Sherman Board To Meet Thursday

SHERMAN - The Sherman Central School Board of Education will hold its regular November board meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the board room. The public is welcome to attend.

Veterans Seminar Set For Thursday

The Chautauqua County Veterans Service Agency, Hospice Chautauqua County and Heritage Park Skilled Nursing Facility will present a seminar Thursday from 1-3 p.m. at the Robert H. Jackson Center, 305 E. Fourth St., Jamestown, to help veterans and their families understand what services and programs are available to them. Call 338-0033 for reservations.
