The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Jamestown is providing a number of ways to secure some interesting items at their annual goods and services auction on Friday.
Following a 6 p.m. buffet supper, the live auction begins at 7:30 p.m. at the church, 1255 Prendergast Ave.
"Friendly but spirited bidding can lead to lots of laughs," said Anne Watkins, auction organizer, "and it's always a great evening."

Ms. Watkins said many fun and quality lower value items are contributed. In addition to the live auction, there will also be a silent auction and $2 and up tables, with items sold immediately to the first buyer. The silent auction will close at 7:15 p.m.
As he has for more than 20 years, member Chuck Brininger will serve as auctioneer.
Among the items up for bid will be a snowshoe hike, culinary goodies, gift certificates including for a handyman, Holiday Valley Ski Resort guest passes, handcrafts, home decorations, collectible coins and other items.
