GLENS FALLS - The Chautauqua County Lakers won the gold medal at the fall edition of the New York State Special Olympics by taking two softball games recently.
The Lakers took the first game, 21-9, and the second, 21-4.
Mike Lampman had seven hits and batted 1.000 for the tournament. He also hit a home run as did Daughshon Ghoeston, Shane Pierson, Andrew Mealy, Zachery Stahl, Thomas McDonnell, Stephen Klein and Charlie Nobbs.
Dan Mealy was the head coach.
