BUFFALO - Maryann Saccomando Freedman, of counsel for the Buffalo and Amherst offices of Cohen & Lombardo, P.C., delivered a presidential ethics presentation at the Continuing Legal Education seminar in Jamestown at the Robert H. Jackson Center.
Offered as a free speaker series to Western New York's law community, the day focused on professional ethics in the practice of law based on the writings and speeches of President Abraham Lincoln. As one of many distinguished presenters and panelists, Freedman spoke on Buffalo's past presidents, Fillmore and Cleveland, and the level of ethics they applied in their legal practices and public offices.
As a certified arbitrator and mediator focusing on matrimonial and family law, Freedman received her juris doctor degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law. She is a past president of the Bar Association of Erie County and the New York State Bar Association, as well as a past delegate to the American Bar Association. Freedman has served on several boards for various organizations across Western New York, guest lectures at local colleges and universities, and currently sits in the House of Delegates of the New York State Bar Association. Her contributions to the profession and community are recognized through various honors awards including the New York State Bar Association's Ruth G. Schapiro Award and the Erie County Bar Association's Lawyer of the Year.
