Investigators may have reason to believe that the robbery at Jamestown Savings Bank in Falconer on Monday was the latest in a string of robberies across New York state.
According to police, investigators from the Jamestown Police Department and the town of Ellicott are currently working with the FBI and other police agencies from across New York to see if several other bank robberies that have occurred are related to the robberies on Monday. Information has been received through a criminal intelligence bulletin showing a pattern of bank robberies that have been committed by a serial bank robber all over New York state. The suspect shown in the surveillance photos from these robberies is similar in appearance to the suspect who robbed Jamestown Savings Bank in Falconer on Monday afternoon.
Investigators are also working to see if the robbery that took place at the First Niagara Bank in Jamestown is connected to these other robberies as well.

The first robbery that took place, which occurred at First Niagara Bank in Jamestown, was reported at 12:16 p.m. on Monday. The suspect entered the bank, handed a teller a note demanding cash, and fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount. He was described as a white male, 25 to 30 years old, around 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing approximately 160 lbs. He had light brown hair with a reddish-blonde goatee style mustache and was wearing wire rim glasses, a black leather coat, black pants, a green button-up shirt and a black Pittsburgh Pirates hat with a black "P" on the front.
The second robbery on Monday afternoon, at Jamestown Savings Bank in Falconer, was reported at roughly 2:30 p.m. Much like the previous robbery, the suspect entered the bank, handed the teller a note demanding cash, and fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. The subject is described as a black male who was wearing a tie, a black leather jacket with fur around the collar and a blue hat. At this time, investigators are attempting to determine if this subject was involved in the other robberies around New York state and if the two robberies on Monday are connected.
