Drugs, Gun Found On Stockton Man After Accident

ELLERY - Sheriff's deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident on Route 380 in Ellery on Thursday along with Sinclairville EMS.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with Russell D. Calanni, 59, of Route 380, Stockton, who was identified as one of the drivers involved in the accident. Upon further investigation, Calanni was found to be in possession of an unregistered handgun along with several controlled substances. Calanni was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled sustenance, second-degree criminal obstruction of governmental administration, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance out of its original container.

Calanni was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail with no bail and will be in court later.
