Zechariah Padd delivered the hat trick in the first period to lead the Jamestown Lakers to a season-opening 6-2 win over the host Cazenovia Chiefs in the Western New York Hockey League on Saturday.

Cooper Spielman scored in the second period, and Josh Cooper and Trenton Shutters in the third. Assists went to Padd, Shutters, Cooper, Jack Brinkley and Will Turner

Aidan Gibbons was the winning goalie.

Goals for Cazenovia were by Skip Faltisto and Colin Maaguhl.

SQUIRT

Jadon Barron and Joshua Brown delivered the hat trick as the Jamestown Lakers stopped the host Batavia Ramparts, 8-3.

Thomas Lucks and Evan Christensen scored the other goals for the Lakers.

Ryan Schrecengost, Barron, Brown and Christensen had assists in support of goalie Jack Yost.
