The Jamestown YMCA Jets swim team opened its 81st season with a home meet against Eastside YMCA of Erie.
Seven individual team members and three relay teams made district times during the opening meet. Several of the Jets swimmers also swam personal-best times.
Earning individual district times are Jordan Powers, Brennan Roehmholdt, Matthew Roehmholdt, Allie Stockwell, Kendra Keyser, Andrew Caldwell and Charlie Simons.
Relay district time achievements were held by the 11-12 girls medley relay, the senior boys 200 medley relay and the senior boys 200 freestyle relay.
"This is a great way to start a new season," said head coach Jason Chinni. "It is an exciting time since our team has grown in each age group this season, our league has added new events for the swimmers and we have added more practice times to our schedule."
The Jets' team is made up of 80 swimmers from Jamestown and the surrounding communities. The swimmers range in age from 5 to 18 years old.
