William Paul ‘‘Billy’’ Holland

William Paul Holland, 38, of Girard, died unexpectedly of natural causes on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at St. Vincent Health Center.

Born on March 9, 1974, in Erie, he was a son of Donald C. and Cheryl Kita Holland.

Billy was baptized and confirmed in St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Girard. He was a graduate of Girard High School, class of 1992, and attended IUP. Billy worked as an assistant manager at Wal-Mart in Jamestown, N.Y., and was a member of the Erie Siebenbuerger Club. He was an Eagle Scout, enjoyed computers and was an artist.

Billy was preceded in death by a sister, Paula Ann White; a brother, Douglas Paul Holland; a nephew, Adam Ryan Holland; and his paternal grandparents, Helmer and Lillian Young.

He is survived by two brothers: Tom E. Holland and his wife, Rebecca, of Girard, Phillip M. Holland and his wife, Pam, of Princeton, Minn.; a sister, Heather M. Holland of Lake City; four half-brothers: Ryan White of Wrightsville, Joel White of Denver, Colo., Dustin White and Nick White, both of St. Cloud, Fla.; maternal grandparents, Paul and Audrey Kita of Erie; aunts and uncles: Paul and Cheryl Kita, Elaine and Donald Langer and Chris-tine and Donald Sherman, all of Erie, Robert and Lisa Kita of Colorado Springs, Colo., Kathy and Chuck Posway of Raleigh, N.C., Dave and Kathy Young of Grand Rapids, Mich., Donna Jones of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Sallee Holland of Jamestown, N.Y., Richard and Susan Holland of Avon, N.Y., and Virginia and Mike Hayes of Ashville, N.Y.; and nieces and nephews: Phillip Holland of Tonawanda, N.Y., Steven Holland, Jacob Holland and Hannah Holland, all of Princeton, Minn., Anastasia Holland and Mathew Hol-land, both of Girard, and Jason Swearingen and Daniel Swearingen, both of Lake City. Billy is also survived by many great-aunts and uncles and many, many cousins; his birth father, William Paul White of St. Cloud, Fla., Billy's best friend, Sean O'Connor and his wife Jennifer of Germany, as well as many, many friends.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East in Girard on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Sa-turday from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Funeral services will be held at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 8942 Ridge Road, Girard, on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Andrew Edwards and the Rev. David McIlvried officiat-ing. Burial will follow in the Girard Cemetery.
