RANDOLPH - It's hard to beat a team for a third time and that was proven in the Section 6 Class D-1 girls volleyball semifinals when No. 4 Cattaraugus-Little Valley (13-7) defeated No. 1 Randolph Thursday night.
''My girls dug and served well,'' said coach Joe Crandall after C-LV swept Randolph (14-5), 25-21, 25-7, 25-19 to get its first win in three outings against the Lady Cardinals this season.
Shelly Bach had 10 kills, an ace and three blocks and Sara Crandall eight kills and 11 digs to lead the Lady Timberwolves, who lost to Randolph earlier by five and four games.
Kaitlyn Nye delivered 11 digs and Raychel Larkin nine digs and three aces for the winners.
McKenna Maycock recorded 11 kills and two aces, Mandy Finch eight kills and Alexis Terrette 10 assists in the loss.
Cattaraugus-Little Valley meets Chautauqua Lake for the championship at 8 p.m. Monday at Jamestown Community College.
