Lady Golden Falcons Reach Class C Finals

FALCONER- Fourth-seeded Falconer will be moving on in the Section 6 playoffs after a tough battle with No. 9 Southwestern in Class C semifinal girls volleyball action on Thursday.

The Lady Golden Falcons (14-5) won the first two games, 26-24, 25-17, but the Lady Trojans fought back to take game three, 23-25 before Falconer closed things out in the final game, 25-23.

"They are a bunch of believers," said coach Darin Kennedy. "They play hard and play to win and always give me everything they have."

The Lady Golden Falcons' stats as a team included 46 kills, nine aces, 72 digs and 65 assists.

For Southwestern, which finished the season at 15-6, Sally Rudny delivered 14 kills, one ace and six blocks and Kara Schutte had two kills, two aces, 13 digs and 12 assists.

The win was Falconer's third over the Lady Trojans this season.

Falconer now plays Eden in the Class C final on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Sweet Home.
