Rummage Sale Begins Today
CHERRY CREEK - The Cherry Creek/Leon United Methodist Church, Main Street, Cherry Creek, will host a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and a bag and bake sale 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. To donate items for the sale, call 296-5213.
Panama Board To Meet Monday
PANAMA - The Panama Central School Board of Education will hold its scheduled board meeting Monday at 7 p.m. in the board room. This meeting is open to the public.
Senior Report To Host Gail Black
Senior Report with Reed Powers will feature Gail Black as the guest Saturday. Black will discuss her newest book "Asses and Angels." The live, call-in program airs from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday morning. Individuals may call 753-5225 during that time with questions or comments. The program is rebroadcast each day at 2 and 8 p.m. for some communities. Reed Powers, host of Senior Report, has been producing the television program since 1995. The series highlights senior citizen club news for 15 minutes with the remainder of the hour-long program devoted to the featured guest. The guest is subject to change. Senior Report is shown live on Saturday mornings on Time Warner cable systems covering the following communities: Brocton, Cassadaga, Chautauqua, Fredonia, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Ripley, Sherman, Stockton and Westfield on Channel 5. In Dunkirk, Forestville, Hanover, Irving and Silver Creek the program is on channel 19. The show originates at the Access Channel 5 studio in Mayville.
Winter Clothing Sale Continues
The St. James Thrift Store, 141 Institute St., Jamestown, has winter coats and jackets on sale for $1 each through the end of December, Other clothing, including a supply of ladies extra large sizes and men's sports jackets, slacks, shirts and accessories will also be available at the regular price of $2 per bag. The store is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Wednesday and Friday and donations are accepted during these hours. If they need to be dropped off other than regular hours, use the side enclosed porch. The store will be closed during the week of Thanksgiving. Closings due to weather or holidays will be announced on the radio.
JPS Board To Meet Tuesday
The Jamestown Public Schools Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Love Elementary School, 50 E. Eighth St., Jamestown. The public is welcome to attend.
Election Day Dinner Planned
KENNEDY - The Kennedy Free Library is sponsoring an Election Day ham dinner from 4:30-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Kennedy United Methodist Church fellowship hall. The cost is $7 for adults, $3 for children ages 4 to 12 and free for those above age 90 and under 3 years old. Dessert is included and take-out orders are available.
Story Hour Set For Wednesday
ASHVILLE - The Ashville Free Library, 2200 N. Maple St., will host a story hour from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesday for children between the ages of 3 and 10. No registration is necessary.
