October 29, 2012
The Post-Journal

From left, Mary Griffin, Vita Damon and Nolan O'Boyle are shown with the Rev. Monsignor Joseph Dowdell, pastor of Sacred Heart Parish in Lakewood and Panama, after receiving the Sacred Heart Servant Award. Also receiving this award, which is given to parishioners who give extra of their time to help the parish and others, were Tina Felton, Mary and Lyle Hajdu. These parish members, ranging in age from 18 to over 60, are role models to the youth and fellow parishioners. The activities they volunteer for was a variety from an Eagle Scout project of constructing an outdoor Stations of the Cross area to being a trustee. They are also part of many church committees and parish council, teach religious education, take gifts to shut-ins and families in need.
